Min. Al-Humoud opens 17th Engineering Design Projects Exhibition |

KUWAIT, Jan 27 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education Dr. Moudhi Al-Humoud has inaugurated here on Wednesday the 17th Engineering Design Projects Exhibition
of the students of Kuwait University's College of Engineering and Petroleum. Speaking to KUNA on the sidelines of the opening ceremony, the minister said the two-day event features "the creative achievements of our talented students." "The design projects on show build on the achievements of the college alumni," Dr. Al-Humoud underscored. "We always keen on supporting the talented students and encouraging them to make more creative achievements," she said. "It is a basic part of KU's plan to build the capacity of academic cadres and enable them to contribute to the country's development process," the minister noted. On his part, Dean of Engineering and Professor of Chemical Engineering Dr. Taher Al-Sahhaf said the college is sponsoring this annual event for the second year wish a view to shedding light on the creativity of the students. "The 73 engineering design projects, being exhibited during the two-day event, are developed by 250 male and female students in their late academic years," Al-Sahhaf disclosed. The projects are part of the compulsory course which aims to enable the students translate their theoretical knowledge into practical models, he added.
