KUWAIT, Feb 3 (KUNA) -- In an endeavour to spread public awareness on road accidents, the Kuwait Fire Department participates in an exhibition to be organized by the Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) in mid February under the motto of "Safe Driving".
Underlining the significance of public awareness on safety measures, Head of Fire Department Public Relations Nasser Al-Ansari told KUNA that car accidents, especially those involveing trucks transporting dangerous chemical substances, were on the rise lately.
He hoped that the exhibition would serve its aims and contribute in highlighting the precautionary measures that would help prevent the spread of fire in case of a road accident.
During the exhibition, the fire department would stress the importance of possessing fire extinguishers and learning how to use them, he said.
He called on companies responsible for the transport of dangerous chemicals to abide by security and safety measures for the protection of passengers and environment.
A live demonstration of a rescue operation involving a motor accident by Al-Ahmadi Fire Brigade would be organized on the sidelines of the exhibition, he noted. - Kuna
