Communications Ministry urges subscribers to pay phone bills

KUWAIT, Feb 14 (KUNA) -- Ministry of Communications urged on Sunday subscribers using the land phone service to pay their phone bills before resorting to the Automated Programmed Cutting system.
Director of Public Relations in the Ministry Ahmad Ramadan told reporters that the ministry started today sending a warning message to be followed by another warning message to the concerned phone numbers on Feb. 21.
He said the ministry will start as of the first of next March to cut-off the phone service on those defaulting on payments following the reception of the second warning short message.
He pointed out that subscribers can now pay their bills through the ministry's website and the official government portal.
He explained that the ministry's computer would automatically cut-off the phone line of the clients whose bills exceed 50 Kuwaiti dinars (kd) for home owners and kd 100 for commercial phone lines. - Kuna
