KUWAIT: DirectorـGeneral of the Public Authority for Civil Information (PACI) Musaed AlـAsousi announced in a press release Sunday that the authority has introduced a new smart card that will enable holders to fuel their cars at gas stations.
Highlighting the technology used to develop the new system, he commended the supportive role of the government and the collaboration of AlـSoor Fuel Marketing Company. The official added that the new card will alleviate the burden of carrying more than one card, noting that a rollـout is currently underway so that citizens can use the new system with the beginning of the National Day celebrations. AlـAsousi further said that since he has assumed office, the application of highest standards of quality, technology and safety has been his preoccupation, noting that PACI is the authority concerned with issuing one of the most important security documents. He noted that a committee comprised of the best experts in technology, computing and document insurance was formed to develop the system. "Thanks to these efforts, the new smart card has been issued," the official was quoted as saying in a press release. He described the new project as the beginning of many other similar applications to be introduced in the future. - Alwatan Daily
