KUWAIT CITY, March 2: The increments of 900 Kuwaiti nurses, including male and female, will be paid along with their March salaries
and the payment will be done in retroactive effect from Oct 2009, Al-Sabah daily quoted Assistant Undersecretary for Administrative Affairs at the Ministry of Health Marzouk Al-Rasheedi as saying. “The administrative sector is endeavoring to pay the increments of 14,000 male and female expatriate nurses within the next two months,” added Al-Rasheedi. The increments range between KD 155 and KD 465 for Kuwaiti nurses and KD 75 and KD 311 for expatriate nurses. The increments are given depending on the candidate’s qualifications, experience and position. Meanwhile, Director of Central Department for Primary Health Care at the ministry Dr Laila Al-Dousari said there are 88 health care centers and 49 laboratories in the country. Eleven centers, however, are closed for maintenance and rehabilitation work. The ministry is planning to set up a health center in each new housing area, added Al-Dousari. - Arab Times
