KUWAIT, March 5 (KUNA) -- The Director of Public Relations in Kuwait's Red Crescent Society (KRSC) Abdulrahman Al-Oun asserted Friday on the importance of shedding light on the Society's humanitarian role in Arab and international arenas.
Al-Oun said in a statement to KUNA that the society will participate in the third humanitarian organizations conference of members of the Organization Islamic Conference (OIC) which will be hosted by Qatar Charity Society on March 7-8th. The Kuwaiti official added that the conference will address two main themes, one relating to the prospects for cooperation between humanitarian organizations and member states of OIC, noting that Kuwaiti Red Crescent Society is a pioneer in terms of enhancing cooperation with humanitarian organizations, while the second deals with mechanisms for cooperation between humanitarian organizations and the Organization of Islamic Conference, in addition to the code of conduct. Al-Oun noted that during the conference there will be workshops to member countries like Sudan, the Darfur region, Palestine, and a workshop on Gaza, Iraq, Pakistan, Niger, and Afghanistan. An exhibition will be hosted during the conference, which will include presentations on annual reports, documentaries, and studies on the importance of such organizations and experience, Al-Oun added. - Kuna
