KUALA LUMPUR, March 8 (KUNA) -- Acting Charge d'Affaires at Kuwait's embassy in Mongolia Ahmad Abdulrahman Al-Shureim officially inaugurated on Monday the new embassy building at the capital Ulan Bator.
In a statement to KUNA over the phone, Al-Shureim said having an embassy in Mongolia came as a result of a decision by the Kuwaiti government in a bid to buttress bilateral relations with the Central Asian country at all levels, "with ties leaping in a qualitative manner." Opening the embassy came after the Mongolian government made a similar step when it opened an embassy in Kuwait last December, Al-Shureim noted, adding that the Kuwaiti embassy is the first for an Arab country to be opened in Ulan Bator, while the Mongolian embassy in Kuwait is the first among Gulf countries Diplomatic ties between the two countries began in 1975, and since then it have been witnessing gradual development. - Kuna
