First food conference enhances consumer awareness of food safety -- official |

KUWAIT, March 14 (KUNA) -- Director of the Department of Food and Nutrition at the Ministry of Health
, Dr. Nawal Al-Hamad, said Sunday that Kuwait's First Food Conference will enhance public awareness on food safety. Al-Hamad said in a statement on occasion of the conference, starting on Monday, that topics that will be discussed include concepts of food safety and its relationship with public health. The conference will see the participation of Kuwait Municipality, Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR), and the Public Authority for Agriculture Affairs and Fish Resources (PAAAFR). She affirmed the keenness of the Department of Food and Nutrition to provide high-quality food and health security through raising awareness on food safety. The conference will discuss international developments in the field of food safety and applying Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) system in the areas of manufacturing and food production. - Kuna
