KUWAIT, March 15 (KUNA) -- Sewage water is always treated before releasing to the sea with the operation being monitored by the Ministry of Public Works and the Environment Public Authority (EPA)
, said an official here on Monday. EPA's Acting Director General Ali Haydar told KUNA that the EPA had participated in the Mishref sewage water recycling accident, sending teams to fix the problem which made headlines. The EPA is continuously testing, on a weekly basis, the sea water to determine if the level of pollutions was going down since the Mishref incident, said the official. Haydar said that the EPA was doing all the necessary tests to make sure that the incident did not have a profound impact on the environment, adding that the EPA still advising fishermen to stay way from the most polluted areas effect by the accident. The tests indicated that the amount of pollutant was not over the normal level, affirmed the official who noted that news about the increasing of pollution were inaccurate. - Kuna
