LoYAC makes USD 15,000 donation to Haiti through KRCS |

KUWAIT, March 17 (KUNA) -- Lothan Youth Achievement Center (LoYAC) presented on Wednesday a donation of USD 15,000 to the victims of devastating earthquake that struck Haiti in January
, to be delivered through Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS). KRCS Chairman Barjas Al-Barjas expressed, in a statement to KUNA, his appreciation to LoYAC for their efforts and for entrusting KRCS with delivering this aid to victims of the quake in Haiti. Al-Barjas lauded such initiatives from young people, saying that Kuwaitis were also keen to lend a helping hand to those in need of assistance all over the world. On her part, LoYAC's Humanitarian Assistance Committee Officer Zain Al-Humaidhi said that the center worked to promote humanitarian values, such as helping and serving others, and its main aim was to instill the spirit of volunteering in youth. She noted that humanitarian efforts were greatly encouraged in Kuwait, and that LoYAC's donation drive came out of its belief in the importance of charitable work. Haiti was hit by a devastating earthquake in January, leading some 300,000 people dead. - Kuna
