KUWAIT, March 19 (KUNA) -- His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah affirmed during his recent meeting with the senior government officials that the country's development plan
entailed a chapter on how to improve traffic services, an official of the Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior said here on Friday. Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry and Director-General of the General Department of Traffic Maj.-Gen. Mahmoud Al-Dousary said HH the Prime Minister briefed the meeting on the development plan which envisages easing the traffic congestions nationwide. Maj.-Gen. Al-Dousary made the remarks during a ceremony, he sponsored, for honoring the delegates of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member countries to the GCC Traffic Week themed "Beware of the Other's Faults." The ceremony, held at the end of the traffic week, was attended by the Ministry's Assistant Undersecretary for Operations Maj-Gen. Dr. Mustafa Al-Za'abi. "The traffic week events help to strengthen cooperation and enhance exchange of experience among the traffic authorities of the six members of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)," Maj.-Gen. Al-Dousary said. Meanwhile, chief delegate of the United Arab Emirates praised the activities of the gathering as "wonderful and fruitful." "The lectures, workshops and symposium held during the GCC traffic week will have remarkable impact on the traffic authorities across the Gulf region, " he said in an address on behalf of the participants. The UAE official highly appreciated the efforts made by the Kuwaiti authorities to ensure the success of the event. At the end of the ceremony, Maj.-Gen. Al-Dousary exchanged decorations, shields of honor and medals with the senior traffic officials of the GCC countries. - Kuna
