KUWAIT, March 23 (KUNA) -- Unexploded live-ammunitions and weapons in Kuwaiti oil lakes prevent the rehabilitation of such lakes, said experts here Tuesday.
Experts gathering in the second forum on treating oil lakes and soil polluted by oil affirmed rehabilitating Kuwait environment from the pollution caused by the Iraqi invasion was still an ongoing task due to the severity of the damage. Participants touched on the amount of damage caused by oil pollution, revealing that 40 million square meters of Kuwait soil was damaged. They also focused on means to rehabilitate the Kuwaiti environment by utilizing the most advanced means and technologies. - Kuna
