Shuaiba refinery shut-down due to malfunction -- KPC |

March 24 (KUNA) -- A sudden malfunction in the steam generating system led to the complete shut-down of the Shuaiba oil refinery, said a statement for Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) on Wednesday.
KPC's Managing Director Government, Parliament, Public, and media relations Sheikh Talal Al-Khaled Al-Fahad told KUNA that the malfunction suddenly occurred at 10:30 a.m. local-time.
The proper procedures to handle such situations were immediately implemented to prevent human casualties and property damages, said Sheikh Talal, adding that the incident was under control.
The units at Shuaiba refinery are being re-operated as repairs are continuing, said the official. - Kuna
