KUWAIT: The Ministry of Health plans to buy 129 ambulances to cover their current shortage of emergency vehicles, reported Awan.
Official health sources explained that the cost of the vehicles will be included in the 2010/2011 budget and that KD 5 million has been allocated for the purchase. The sources explained that the budget is not just for ambulances and also covers the cost of other medical needs, such as refrigerated trucks for transporting medicine and blood. They added that the Ministry of Health plans to upgrade old ambulances and have them better equipped. They said that old ambulances will be renovated to accommodate the obese. - Kuwait Times
