Electricity minister stresses development drive |

KUWAIT, April 3 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti Minister of Electricity and Water Bader Al-Shuraiaan underlined here Saturday the significance of carrying out the country's national development plan for the four years to come.
Speaking to reporters following a ministerial meeting to follow up on preparations for the plan, the minister said, "There is no leniency in the implementation of the plan. The principle of rewarding and accountability will be observed." He instructed the ministry's senior officials to work together to complete the development drive as scheduled. A team of the ministry's planning and training has been made up to monitor and follow up on the implementation of the plan, the minister said. For his part, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Electricity and Water Ahmad Al-Jassar said the ministry was standing prepared to execute 100 new projects at a total cost of KD one billion as part of the government's development program. The ministry is also seeking to tap renewable energy like solar energy, and to boost its proceeds and support national cadres through training courses to boost their technical skills and scientific levels.- Kuna
