KUWAIT, April 4 (KUNA) -- Minister of Education and Higher Education Moudhi Al-Humoud opened here Sunday the 1st Asian Scientific Forum.
The event, organized by UNESCO and the Regional Asian Office of the International Movement for Leisure Activities in Science and Technology (MILSET), is held under the auspices of His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah. Al-Humoud welcomed the participants in the opening session of the forum, calling on them to develop science education within the Asian region. She said Asian youth must be prepared to carry on the duty of developing their respective countries which in turn would lead to promoting educational relations amongst Asian countries. Utilizing the youth free time with education would help in the overall progress of Asia, said Al-Humoud, adding that scientific achievements could not exist without solid education. MILSET's President Roberto Hidalgo on his part lauded Kuwait's efforts in promoting education on the local and regional arenas, affirming that the development of science in Asia was a must.
