KUWAIT: Kuwait Times received information late Monday night of a shooting incident that allegedly occurred in The Avenues mall.
The report came from a usually reliable source in the Interior Ministry. The Avenues mall wrote to Kuwait Times to deny the incident and in response, the management investigated the report and unfortunately, it was found to be false.
The Avenues issued the following statement: "The management of The Avenues refuted a report published by Kuwait Times on the front page of its Tuesday, April 27 issue, claiming that a shooting occurred at the mall the day before last. The claim is baseless, and the Security Department of the mall did not receive any report over such an incident. The management also pointed out that the Interior Ministry has a security point at the mall. Security personnel are also stationed around the mall and are well-trained to handle such incidents, should they occur. - Kuwait Times
