KUWAIT, May 1 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Fire Service Directorate (KFSD) announced here Saturday that a firefighter was injured along with seven expatriates after a fire erupted in a rug storage house in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh area.
KFSD's head of Public Relations and Media Lieut-Colonel Khalil Al-Amir told the press that the fire was put out immediately, adding that the cause of the fire was the lack of safety measures at the storage house. Storing rugs, wood, and other similar materials without providing the necessary conditions for storage would lead to hazardous outcomes and such was evident in today's incident, said the official. He urged merchants to make sure that their products were properly stored in locations which prevent such fires from occurring. - Kuna
