KUWAIT: The Ministry of Interior called upon citizens and expats to be very cautious during the country's current weather conditions.
The ministry asked that each individual take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and their families. They warned against speeding and to urged drivers not to load more weight into their car than its carrying capacity to avoid malfunction. The ministry's press release also called for the use of the safety belt while driving to avoid harm during an accident. They requested that drivers not stop near accidents to avoid traffic jams and to call emergency number 112 when help is required. Meanwhile, meteorologist Essa Ramadan said that temperatures are expected to rise above 40 degrees today and will not drop below that until September, reported Al-Rai. He added that visibility will improve while dust remains in the skies. He explained that Kuwait was affected by an unstable weather condition caused by a low pressure front, which began moving east on Friday. A gradual improvement in the weather will start today with a noticeable increase in temperature, reaching its peak at mid-week around the mid 40s, Ramadan said. Clear skies and sunshine will start at the beginning of next week, he concluded. - Kuwait Times
