KUWAIT, May 16 (KUNA) -- Assistant Health Undersecretary for Medical Services Dr. Qais Al-Duwairi said on Sunday that the Ministry of Health has set up technical committees to visit several countries
and to hire nurses next October. Al-Duwairi said in a press release that the ministry would sign contracts to recruit 2,000 nurses from the Philippines, India, Sri Lanka and Egypt, due to the expansions in various health facilities and the extension of working hours. He said the ministry is seeking to provide a high-quality nursing staff. A website would be set for registering for local nurses in facilitation of procedures for employees and applicants, Al-Duwairi noted, emphasizing at the same time the ministry's keenness on legality of applications and recruitment procedures. The Nursing Services' Department has recently received about 1,000 requests from inside Kuwait so far. - Kuna
