Big role for KSC in educating youth |

KUWAIT: Kuwait Science Club (KSC) plays a great role in educating youth and helping them benefit from their leisure time, and offers them great opportunities to express their creative skills
, Speaker of the Kuwaiti Parliament Jassem Mohammad Al-Khorafi said. Al-Khorafi was speaking after a ceremony, held Sunday night, celebrating the 35th anniversary of the club's establishment. He stressed the importance of supporting patents gained by the club members, and taking advantage of their scientific experiences. An exhibition would be held under the patronage of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah next November, Al-Khorafi noted. The Undersecretary of the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Mohammad Al-Kandiri said that the Ministry supports KSC and hopes it would open branches in all areas across the country. The Board Chairman of KSC Ayyad Al-Kharafi meanwhile thanked all people and bodies who contributed in the establishment of the club in August 1974. He said that the prize of His Highness the Amir for best invention at the said exhibition is the most prestigious in this category worldwide, and the financial prizes offered by Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Science (KFAS), KSC, and GCC Patent Office are also great encouragement to inventors and researchers. Director of scientific culture department in KSC Dr Jassem Bshara said that KSC is one of the unique scientific institutions in the country, offering various programs for youth through out the year. He said that many of KSC members are now holding senior positions and prove their talents as they pursue their careers. - Kuwait Times
