This expo is a great opportunity for the consumer to be familiar with the latest products and compare prices and quality as well," said Dr Adel Al-Wuqayan, Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Planning. He was speaking during the launch of the Interior Design and Landscape Expo on Monday. - Kuwait Times The Interior Design and Landscape Expo is also a good chance for young design engineers to express their creativity. "The Kuwait engineer has the ability to create unique and extraordinary designs, which are suitable for the different tastes of consumers," he added. Al-Waqayan highlighted the important role played by the private sector. " Private companies are the supporting elements that help complete public projects. Also, there are more projects in the government's development plan that needs more cooperation from the private sector. This will result in the delivery of better products if the public sector executes these projects alone," he noted. He asserts on the importance of privatization, "Some people feel that privatization affects only influential businessmen. But, good companies even small ones should not be afraid of competition." Also, most large-scale companies have started off small. Privatization should be implemented by analyzing supply and demand in the market. The role of the government should be to control and manage quality, and not compete in the private sector where chances of investment chances are small in a market like Kuwait, Al-Waqayan pointed out.
