KUWAIT, May 26 (KUNA) -- The hotter the weather gets, the more people here look for ways to cool themselves off to avoid dehydration, and the most obvious solution for most - young and old - is ice creams.
Not only is ice cream available in a variety of flavors that suit all tastes, this treat is also one that the whole family can enjoy, and promises instant relief from the scorching heat. Head of the ice cream section at one of the food stations, Ahmad Al-Gharbawi, told KUNA that demand on ice cream had been on the rise since the weather started to heat up, expecting from experience that demand would be at its highest in July - the hottest month of Kuwait's summer. He noted that most of the ice cream buyers were children, which was why he made sure that the favorites flavors of the little ones were always on hand, while not overlooking the tastes of their parents. Al-Gharbawi noted that ice cream was also available from mobile vendors out on the streets, making it even more accessible to people. On his part, Mohammad Salman, a consumer, called on the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to increase supervision and monitoring on ice cream during this period for the safety of consumers. Many consumers do not check the expiry dates on the items they purchase, he explained, saying that he personally liked to make ice cream at home because of the special taste it had. - Kuna
