KUWAIT, May 27 (KUNA) -- A limited fire that broke out in a gas unit at Subbiya Plant has been controlled, and unit operation will resume as usual in a few hours, said the Ministry of Electricity and Water on Thursday.
The ministry's Director of Public Relations and Media, Eng. Talal Al-Enizi, said in a press release, "At exactly 12:00 p.m., smoke was seen rising from a limited fire in the gas heater area in Unit 4 of the plant. Unit operation was suspended as a precautionary measure, to ensure the safety of the equipment." Closer inspection indicated that the smoke was resultant from an oil leak from the heater, which led to a limited fire. - Kuna
