Interpol Human trafficking Conf. calls for cooperation against human |

DAMASCUS, June 9 (KUNA) -- The first international Interpol conference on combating human trafficking asserted Wednesday the importance of international cooperation to combat human traficking in coordination with the United Nations Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Programme.
Kuwait's Representative to the Conference and Director of National Assembly Affairs in the interior ministry Bandar Al-Mutairi told KUNA at the concludion of the gathering that the conference had proposed an international mechanism to deal with human trafficking. Among other things, the conference approved to set the seventh of June as an international day for fighting human trafficking, Al-Mutairi said. The Kuwaiti official added that the conference called upon all organizations and participating international agencies to exert more efforts and keenness to combat the phenomena of human trafficking, including raising awareness of the dangers of such phenomena in international arenas and forums. - Kuna
