KUWAIT, June 14 (KUNA) -- The Assistant Undersecretary of cable distribution and Network in the Ministry of Electricity and Water (MEW), Saleh Al-Meslim on Monday attributed power blackouts in various parts of the country
to the deterioration of electricity transformers in various stations which are either undergoing maintenance or replaced. Al-Meslim said in a press release, that most power blackouts are reasonable when compared to neighboring countries, noting that the electricity network in the country is considered one of the biggest networks, particularly when adding diesel generators to what is needed for the country. The delay in restoring power to some parts of the country was due to the amount of time to move the new generators from Sabhan area to the affected areas. For his part, MEW's Assistant Undersecretary of Training and Planning Mashaan Al-Otaibi said that the electricity situation in the country was stable, noting that all power stations are working at full capacity.- Kuna
