EPA launches 'million trees' project |

KUWAIT: The Capital governorate recently hosted the launch of the Environment Public Authority's latest campaign,
which aims to see one million blackthorn trees planted across Kuwait, with the first tree being planted outside the governorate's headquarters building. In his speech at the event, Capital Governor Sheikh Ali Al-Jaber Al-Sabah acknowledged the efforts of the volunteers participating in the project and of the EPA, thanking the authority for accepting the governorate's request to host the project launch event, reported Al-Qabas. EPA chairman Dr. Saleh Al-Moudhi lauded the governorate's participation in the project and its "commitment to and support for projects involving young Kuwaitis." Dr. Al-Moudhi also noted that the benefits of the tree-planting project will include combating desertification and reducing the harmful effects of polluting emissions. - Kuwait Times
