Boubyan port project contract to be signed Wednesday |

KUWAIT, July 5 (KUNA) -- Minister of Public Labor and Minister of State for Municipal Affairs Dr. Fadhel Safar is due to sign a contract for designing and executing and maintaining the marine Boubyan port on Wednesday
, the ministry said in a statement released on Monday.
The minister will sign the second part of the first phase of the mega venture that will include studies, data gathering and inspecting the marine bed of the navigation canal.
The contract also envisages examination of the sea sand and the harbor ground to determine underground strata at the project site.
Up to 16 piers stretching 1,600 meters into the sea waters will be built. Depth at the basins of the port are projected at 16.5 meters, and those for navigation at 14.5 meters. - Kuna
