Fire Dept.: putting out fire basement in Sabah Al-Nasser, saving 30 people |

KUWAIT, July 9 (KUNA) -- A fire that broke out here Friday in a basement of a three-story building in Sabah Al-Nasser district was extinguished along with saving 30 people including five who were hospitalized, Fire Department said here Friday.
Acting Director of the Public Relations and Media at the Fire Department Nasser Al-Ansari said to KUNA that the fire was put out in a record time and the firefighters precluded its spread along with ensuring the safety of the building's occupants with the help of five firefighting teams. On his part, Director of the Medical Emergency Department at the Ministry of Health Dr. Faisal Al-Ghanim told KUNA that 10 ambulances and 20 medics were immediately headed for the site as soon as they got a report, pointing out five people were transported to Al-Farwaniya hospital, while seven others received treatment on the spot. Al-Ghamin said that an emergency plan was put into effect in order to cope with the accident, making clear that the emergency operations department at Al-Farwaniya hospital was notified to become on alert and the hospital's liasion officer was properly informed with his tasks, hailing the cooperation of all concerned parties with the emergency medics.
