Kuwait Zakat House launches Iftar project in 38 countries |

KUWAIT, Aug 10 (KUNA) -- Zakat (Alms) House Director of Foreign Activity Affairs Othman Al-Haidar said on Tuesday the beginning of "Iftar" (breakfast) project in a number of Arab and Islamic countries
, in cooperation with 47 institutes and charities in those countries. The project will provide more than 346,000 meals as well as providing packages of dry rations estimated to cost up to KD 317,000, Al-Haidar said in a press release. Zakat House has executed a similar project last year during the holy month of Ramadan, in 38 Arab and Islamic countries and in cooperation with 56 institutes and charity organizations, Al-Haidar said. The official noted that the project's total number of meals for last year reached 442,816, with a cost which reached KD 332,000. Al-Haidar added that such project is considered one of the most vital charity projects executed by Zakat House outside the country. Zakat house project, Al-Haidar noted that it is keen on helping Muslims outside the country during the fasting period of the holy month of Ramadan. The project was first initiated in 1988 through full-fledged supporters and volunteers, but under the supervision of Zakat House, Al-Haidar added. - Kuna
