KUWAIT: The Ministry of Education proposed a method to help end the problem of Kuwaiti students studying in private universities in India and the Philippines whose degrees are not recognized by the ministry, reported Al-Watan.
The method would place students into three categories, the first of which would include students who have already graduated from universities in these two countries before the universities were officially refused recognition. These students will be required to pass equivalency tests prepared by the faculty of engineering in Kuwait University before their certificates can be credited. Students who are graduates of, or are still studying at, unrecognized universities registered with the ministry before the ban was made will be instructed to transfer to recognized universities. It was noted that the ministry would pay any remaining expense. Meanwhile, the third category regards students currently studying at the unrecognized universities without being registered with the ministry. They will be forced to switch to universities that are recognized by the ministry at their own expense. Al-Watan
