Interior Ministry denies entrance of 70,000 beggars to Kuwait |

KUWAIT, Aug 29 (KUNA) -- The Ministry of Interior denied on Sunday the entrance of 70,000 beggars to Kuwait during the holy month of Ramadan.
The ministry's spokesman and director of the information security department Brigadier General Mohammad Al-Sabr said that the number of visit permits issued from Ramadan 1 to Ramadan 18 is 22,973, which include tourist, commercial, and family enrollment permits. The number of people who entered the country using visit permits during the same period is 14,533, he said. The television channel that reported that the number was of beggers and quintupled it affected the country's reputation and the credibility of the media, he pointed out. Furthermore, Al-Saber announced that the information security department is always ready to cooperate with all media, either to respond to inquiries or requests for clarifications, or to provide them with information and statistics that concerns the ministry's affairs to serve the public interest as well as to preserve the country's security, stability, and reputation, in addition to the credibility of the media. - Kuna
