KUWAIT, Sept 9 (KUNA) -- The Kuwaiti Cabinet reiterated on Thursday its vehement condemnation of a US church call for burning copies of Holy Quran on the ninth anniversary of the September 11 attacks.
Speaking to KUNA, Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Roudhan Al-Roudhan said: "This heinous act extremely hurts the feelings of all Muslims worldwide, and is an unacceptable blasphemy of Islamic Sharia and Holy Quran." "This eccentric behavior is a blatant breach of teachings and values of heavenly religions and a provocative act that requires great effort to stop this heinous crime and to defend the Holy Quran, or there will be unpredictable reactions and repercussions," he warned. He added that the Kuwaiti cabinet was coordinating with other Gulf, Arab and Muslim nations over concerted moves to stop such a criminal act. However, the Kuwaiti minister hailed wide-scale international condemnations of such a disgraceful crime, which jeopardizes efforts exerted to shore up intercultural and interreligious dialogue. - Kuna
