NEW DELHI, Sept 26 (KUNA) -- Energy cooperation with India will be beefed up, as the latter is of the major importers of Kuwaiti oil, Kuwait Minister of Oil Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah said here Sunday.
In a statement to KUNA, Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah, who arrived in the Indian capital yesterday, said his visit is within visits by Kuwaiti officials, which would help boost the friendly relations even further at all levels. "In this visit, we seek to explore new cooperation opportunities with the Indian side in the oil sector," the Kuwaiti minister said, adding "issues of common interest would also be discussed with Indian Vice President Hamid Ansari, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Murli Deora. Sheikh Ahmad, who also doubles as information minister, had earlier this afternoon, held a coordinative meeting with his accompanying delegation; comprising of senior representatives of Kuwaiti oil companies, in order to stand on latest talks with Indian oil firms. - Kuna
