Kuwait MoE pursues smart-class drive |

KUWAIT, Sept 27 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Ministry of Education affirmed Monday determination to pursue the endeavor to introduce the "smart-class" system
, a technology-enabled interactive teaching technique, to the schools and colleges nationwide. Inaugurating Kuwait fist conference and exhibition on rehabilitation of schools and colleges here, Assistant Undersecretary for Planning and Information Dr. Khaled Al-Rushaid said the ministry sought to create the conditions conducive to modern education and keep in pace with the latest e-education solutions. "The Smart-class drive is one of the pilot programs aiming to modernize the infrastructure of the educational facilities in line with the latest achievements of education technology," Al-Rushaid, also chairman of the events pointed out. The ongoing events brought together over 100 local and global education agencies and service providers which seek to showcase their products. "This large participation shows the ability of the public sector to back up the public one in modernizing the educational facilities," he affirmed. His remarks were echoed by chairman of the organizing committee Dr Nasser Al-Enezi who said "the private sector plays an active role in modernizing education through providing the schools and colleges with the latest equipment. " Meanwhile, Hani Al-Kukhun, general manager of Cisco Kuwait - an affiliate of Cisco Systems, said his company attached great importance to the process aiming to promote Kuwait's principal and higher education. Cisco Kuwait focuses on continuous investment in the development of human resources, Al-Kukhun pointed out. On his part, Ehab Mostafa, Microsoft's country manager, said Microsoft Kuwait's keenness on active participation in the current conference and exhibition stemmed from "our strategic partnership" with the Kuwaiti government in general and with the Ministry of Education in particular. The three-day conference and exhibition explore and showcase the latest education-related solutions and technologies as well as the digital library facilities. - Kuna
