KUWAIT: The government has reportedly completed the necessary procedures to provide an additional KD50 monthly 'social allowance' to every Kuwaiti citizen working in the private sector
who is registered with the Manpower and Government Restructuring Program (MGRP) and meets the criteria for financial support. According to local daily Al-Jarida, the government recently informed the Civil Service Commission (CSC) that it aims to almost double the percentage of Kuwaitis working in the private sector in the next three years, increasing the level from the current 4.8 percent to 8 percent by the end of 2014.
