Municipality won't hesitate to bust spoiled food dealers |

KUWAIT: Minister of Public Works and Minister of State for Municipal Affairs Dr. Fadhel Safar stressed yesterday that Kuwait municipality will not hesitate in following
, monitoring and busting spoiled food businessmen. Safar said that all the municipality bodies are closely monitoring food in order to provide a safe and healthy food for consumers by applying strict legal procedures to stop violators from bringing in unfit food for human consumption into the country. Hawalli Governorate Municipality Director Faleh Al-Shameri said that minister Safar has made field visits to a number of locations to get familiarized with the latest food raids and the process of their destructions. He also met with Hawalli municipality officials and work staff. He lauded their efforts in discovering and putting a stop to those food violators. There was only one week between two rotten meat busts," Al-Shameri noted, pointing out that "one was at Al-Shwaikh Central Slaughterhouse when the inspectors team discovered imported spoiled meat and the other one was a 400kg of bad meat. Both busts were destroyed. However, he stressed on the continuity of strict and serious monitoring on imported meat into the country and applying safety food conditions and regulations. Campaign inspections are on going on grocery shops, central food markets and storage houses in order to put a stop to violators of municipal regulations, Al-Shameri said. --- KUNA
