KUWAIT: The outgoing Indian Ambassador Ajai Malhotra hosted a dinner reception at the Indian embassy on Tuesday evening to bid farewell to his Kuwaiti and Indian friends
and diplomatic colleagues as he completes his tenure in Kuwait. Ambassador Malhotra is leaving Kuwait in May to take up a position as India's new ambassador to Russia based in Moscow. In Kuwait, I've made friendships with people in many parts of society. Today, I'm hosting some of my Kuwaiti and Indian friends. I've also invited today my diplomat friends from different foreign missions here. I will also be meeting with others soon," the ambassador told the Kuwait Times. A large number of Kuwaiti dignitaries, diplomats, Indian community representatives and media figures attended the event on Tuesday evening. The ambassador and his wife Ira Malhotra greeted the guests on their arrival at the India House and mingled with them, as well as posing for photos with many, with much good-natured competition amongst guests to have their photos taken with one of the most popular and dynamic Indian ambassadors Kuwait has yet seen. I really feel that this has been the most enjoyable posting I ever had and I will miss Kuwait in every sense," the ambassador said, adding wistfully, "I will certainly miss many good friends when I leave this beautiful country.- Kuwait Times
