Mujaweb rescue-boat arrives in Kuwaiti waters from South Korea |

KUWAIT, May 2 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Fire Service Directorate announced on Monday the arrival of fire-fighting and rescue boat "Mujaweb" at Shwaikh port from South Korea
to be part of the Marine Rescue Department's fleet. Director of the Marine Rescue Department Colonel Khaled Al-Mekrad told KUNA that the boat was built in South Korea according to the latest of world boat-making industry's standards. He added that the KD-five-million is considered one of the largest fire-fighting boats in the world, with a length that reaches up to 40 meters and a width of 13 meters. He also noted that the boat has a water pull capacity of 65 tons, four giant fire-fighting pumps and six-160-meter-range-launchers. The boat is also equipped with send and receive distress devices, thermal cameras for night rescue operations, fire-fighting and rescues equipments as well as a mini hospital of four beds for conducting first aids onboard. The Kuwaiti Marine Rescue Department has 20 boats of different sizes which are considered the best and latest, in technology, in the region. The boats' function is to secure marine navigation in local and regional waters. - Kuna
