Power cuts to facilitate maintenance -- Ministry |

KUWAIT, May 2 (KUNA) -- The Ministry of Electricity and Water is to conduct maintenance for power generators which requires scheduled few-hour power cuts across the country
throughout May.
There would be announcements on times of power cuts in different areas through official media, and the timing of the power outage was chosen to start at 7 a.m. to last 4-6 hours depending on area. The timing is when most people are not at home, Sunday through Thursday, a ministry statement said.
As to the nature of the maintenance work, the statement pointed out there would be replacement of old generators and renewed wiring to guard against short circuits and explosions due to overload.
The replacement of cables and parts of generators is usually carried out between October and May in view of the relative drop in temperature this time of year, causing the least inconvenience. - Kuna
