KD 700,000 spent on GIS system |

KUWAIT: installing the Geographic Information System(GIS) that captures census-related information has cost the government a total sum of KD 700,000.
The secretary general of the supreme council for planning and development has awarded the tender to execute this project to a company that made the second lowest bid. A new budget has been allocated for this year. On the other hand, the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor (MSAL) has decided to retain the current expatriate work force required for the project's completion. Officials said that the ministry has allocated KD 365,000 to renovate Umm Hameed Al-Ansaria school. Manual laborers will be lodged in suitable accommodation. Sources explained that renovation work will be completed by mid next year. Thereafter, the place will be capable of accommodating more workers. - Kuwait Times
