KUWAIT, June 5 (KUNA) -- Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education Ahmed Al-Mulaifi stressed on Sunday the need to complete
the conversion of textbooks into CDs and flash memory starting from the next academic year. The minister told reporters today after chairing a meeting of the Undersecretaries Council of the Ministry of Education that this summer will see the implementation of this step within the framework of the ministry's effort to ease the burden of heavy school bags on students in parallel with the use of computers in all areas. He added that the ministry was considering the development of the administrative system in schools through the elimination of administrative burdens that may be assigned to teachers so that their role could be confined to giving their shares of study and education only, without any costs or other burdens. He also stressed the importance of the Ministry's commitment to instructions and observations of the Audit Bureau and the Civil Service Commission, whether previously or currently recorded, indicating that any violations recorded on the ministry is the subject of attention and scrutiny to find out the reasons and motives behind the registration of such irregularities or observations. He said that the meeting of the Undersecretaries discussed the needs of the general education of new teachers in various academic disciplines in order to fill the gap of needs with the review of alternative plans in case of non-arrival of new teachers from some Arab countries. - Kuna
