KUWAIT, June 21 (KUNA) -- Head of the Kuwaiti committee tasked with the issue of illegal residents, Saleh Al-Fedhala received at his office on Tuesday two UN officials.
Al-Fedhala met UN Resident Coordinator, Adam Abdulmoula and the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Kuwait, Dr. Hanan Hamdan, during the three discussed efforts brought about to provide assistance and humanitarian and civil incentives to the illegal residents of Kuwait. This assistance does not include granting citizenship, he said, adding that "this an exclusive sovereign right of the country." For their part, the two UN officials briefed Al-Fedhala on means their UN offices could assist Kuwait on the task, through providing expert training by courses and research in the field. - Kuna
