A forum of bloggers, the first of its kind, is scheduled to start Monday with the participation of 200 bloggers.
The forum attracts many media, social, political, educational, and legal figures. Several seminars on several specialized issues are to be held on the sidelines of the event. The Forum coordinator, Abdulrazzak Buhajji, told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the forum aims to gather all bloggers under one umbrella in order to promote their ideas and develop their abilities to harness them to serve the Kuwaiti society. The Forum highlights the most prominent young bloggers in various fields to embrace them and provide the right climate for them to continue through seminars which will be held periodically throughout the year, Buhajji said. Buhajji stressed that the forum will discuss through its seminars the role and influence of blogs in the social development with the participation of a group of bloggers and journalists. By holding the forum, the organizing committee wants to ensure the freedom of expression and to urge bloggers to contribute effectively to the development of the Kuwaiti society and the emphasis on strengthening ties of national principles and respect of other opinion, he said. Furthermore, the forum works to educate the participants as well as the audience about the many ways through the allocation of lectures to explain the new audiovisual law. - Kuna
