KUWAIT: The Kuwait Teachers' Association (KTA) announced yesterday that it will honor 293 teachers -- 83 male and 210 female
-- at the eighth annual 'Thank You, Teacher' festival. The event, scheduled for Oct. 5, will coincide with World Teachers' Day. This ceremony is in part the recommendation of the International Teachers' Conference, which has promoted honoring teachers and granting them the status they deserve. Among the 293 to be honored at the event on Oct. 5 are teachers who have spent 22 years in the field and who hold KTA membership. Preparatory Higher Committee head and KTA board member Laila Abduallah Al-Sherif told media that KTA is working on early preparations for the event. Al-Sherif called upon teachers to pass by the KTA public relations department during working hours, from today until Oct 9, or to call KTA for further help. - KUNA
