The Director General of Central Records in the Health Ministry Rashid Al-Azmi said Tuesday that more than 11,000 birth certificates and 568 death certificates have been issued for illegal residents since last April.
Al-Azmi added, in a statement to KUNA, that the number of death certificates for those of the same category has reached 568 cases. The official noted that his administration since last April proceeded with the implementation of a cabinet decision which called putting in the phrase (Non-Kuwaities) in the nationality location of the birth or death certificate, instead of the old decision of phrasing it (Illegal resident). Meanwhile, Al-Azmi said that the change of such term goes back to the refusal by those who are from that category to accept the term illegal resident, noting that after the adaptation of the new term, mechanism of issuing such certificates has been steady and organized. - Kuna
