Kuwait is very keen on observing the rights of children on a regional and international level especially when it comes to the rights of the disfranchised youth, said a Kuwait official here late Friday.
This came during a speech for member of the Kuwaiti delegation Bader Al-Saqr to the 66th UN General Assembly's Social, Humanitarian, and Cultural committee's meeting here. Al-Saqr stressed that Kuwait was for maintaining rights of children everywhere, saying that within context the Gulf country believed that the suffering of the Palestinian children in the occupied territories due to the Israel injustice was "illegal." On the local level, the Kuwaiti diplomat noted that the constitution ensured the rights of family and children, providing much care in accordance with the law and the just fundamentals set by the Islamic faith. Kuwait worked on several levels to ensure the health, social, and educational rights of children were met in the country, said the official, adding that Kuwait also welcomed and participated in any international effort to protect children and make sure their rights were met.
