The General Traffic Department (GTD) has started installing new road surveillance cameras to track down motorists who use the emergency lane without any valid reason
; thereby, blocking the way of rescue workers and ambulances, reports Al-Shahed daily quoting sources.
Sources revealed Assistant Undersecretary for Traffic Affairs Major General Mustafa Al-Zuabi and his deputy Brigadier General Ihasan Auwiash issued a directive on the speedy completion of the project to ease traffic jams. Sources said the department is also conducting a study on the proposed projects to address the worsening traffic problem in the country and prevent accidents.
