The Ministry of Interior Affairs Sunday stressed it would not issue a permit for any gathering or protest in Jahra area or elsewhere, amid increasing calls for such gatherings by political and youth figures recently.
This, a statement said, violates laws and security measures and shall not be allowed. The ministry meanwhile pointed out that, "citizens, and none else, are meanwhile allowed to voice their opinions freely in the square opposite the National Assembly building. It stressed that "any violation or overlooking of these restrictions would be dealt with according to laws and procedures in this regard. "The ministry calls upon all to cooperate with security representatives and bodies for the public best interest."
