The Ministry of Interior issued an order to violate vehicles with stickers of election candidates and their ads.
Minstry of Interior Deputy Undersecretary for Traffic Department Major General Dr Mustafa Al-Zaabi said in a statement released here Saturday, this operation comes in implementation of the adminstrative memo on the application and controls of election campaigns as to not violate the regulations and laws. Al-Zaabi who is also incharge of the security commission of supply and preparation for the 2012 parliamentary elections, hoped the cooperation of vehicles’ owners to avoid campaigning through pictures and posters of candidates on their cars in order to preserve the general appearance as it is in contrary to traffic laws and conditions of security. Meanwhile, Our homelands needs us all to maintain an atmosphere and attitude of devotion and cooperation to overcome recent challenge and hurdles and resume its development and maintain its prosperity, stressed Fifth Constituency candidate Omar Al-Rishidi, Thursday. The candidate said the true criteria by which candidates must be judged are the levels of transparency and firmness of purpose adopted throughout their campaigns. It is vital for our country to have representatives who would adopt policies of cooperation to reignite the spark of development and re-start stalled initiatives and projects already approved by the previous parliament. The Fifth Constituency in particular, he argued, suffers from lack of services and utilities, and is in dire need of a hospital. With only Al-Adan hospital serving the district, citizens are forced to suffer poor service and access, while the district is the largest and most densely populated. The candidate also noted the need to re-consider the motorway map of the areas of the constituency which are suffocated by traffic jams and many accidents, with exits and slip-roads insufficient to handle the traffic to and from the many schools and public facilities. New areas in particular have a severe layout problem, he said, and need road repair and re-design at a great many points. Al-Rishidi urged all voters to select their representatives well, and to support those who show genuine intent to address and care for the issues and concerns that affect their daily lives and wellbeing. In another report, First Constituency candidate Dr Anwar Al-Shuraian called on Wednesday for rebuilding the country through the development of economy and infrastructure. At the official inauguration of his campaign headquarters for women, Al-Shuraian said national economy should be strengthened, income should be diversified and infrastructure should be developed in order to acheive prosperity and development. He called for rejecting sectarian and tribal sedition which “will undermine and destroy the society” and the MP should represent the entire nation. Al-Shuraian called for paying more attention to the people with special needs, education and higher education, building of universities and implementing professional sport laws. He also urged resolution of status of the people living in Kuwait illegally through giving them civil rights and naturalize those who deserve the nationality.
